1. Set up your API-only user

First, we'll need to set up a new role and user in Marketo.

  1. Log in to your Marketo instance as an admin and navigate to the "Admin" menu.
  2. Click on "Users & Roles" and then click "New Role" under the "Roles" tab.

3. Type “Userled Role” for Role Name and assign “Access API group” for permissions. Click "Create".

4. Go back to the "Users" tab and click "Invite New User". Fill out the following fields:

  • Email: userled+<your company name>@userled.io
  • First Name: Userled
  • Last Name: User
  • Roles and Workspaces: Userled
  • Role (created above)
  • Make sure to check “API Only”

2. Create a custom service for an authentication token

1. Go back to the Admin menu and click on LaunchPoint from the left hand pane. Click "New Service".

2. Fill out the following fields:

  • Display Name: Userled Service
  • Service: Custom
  • Description: This service is for Userled
  • API Only User: userled+<your company name>@userled.io

3. Create the service and click "View Details". Take note of your "Client ID" and "Client Secret" - you'll need to enter these in Userled to complete the integration.

4. Go back to the "Admin" menu and click "Web Services". Find the Endpoint in the REST API box and take note of it - you'll need to enter this in Mutiny to complete the integration.

3. Activate the integration in Userled

Once you've configured the above settings in Marketo, navigate back to the Userled app.

  1. Navigate to https://app.userled.io/integrations.
  2. Click on the Marketo integration card.

3. Enter your Client ID, Client Secret and Endpoint URL.

4. Select which attributes you want to use to segment and personalize in Userled. You can add additional columns by clicking the "Map another Marketo column" button at the bottom. When you are finished with your selection, click "Map columns." You can come back and edit these selections at any time

5. Once you've set up your Marketo integration, the fields you mapped over will be available in the segment creator and when selecting target account and contact lists.
